Blood, Sweat, and Tears went into this project, Literally! This project was a real environment integrated with a digital 3D element. I was obsessed with ghosts and had recently took a deep dive into Japanese ghost lore. So I brought that interest into my project.
The Ghost is rendered in Arnold using a smoke effect. A building was build in Maya and then 3D printed. The The building was casted and molded to make duplicates. From there with small wood blanks that were stained, some wax paper and a series of Christmas lights the building were given life and detail. The roads were paved with dry wall repair, pebbles and gravel. It was shot in a green screen studio and the whole scene was given life.
